Writing for the Examiner, hosting two blogs, as well as freelancing in my spare time forces me to network quite a bit. I love meeting new people, especially writers and artists so it truly is a labor of love. I subscribe to several social media sites including Tumblr; just this morning a fellow Tumblr posted a beautiful rendition of Martian Manhunter by Alex Ross. I fell in love with the sketch and I knew that I had to post it here, because after all this is the "Martian Manhunter Comic Book Blog."
I chose Martian Manhunter because he is my favorite underdog of all time. He has clout within the industry (after all he did head the JLA for quite a while), but outside of comic book aficionados the Manhunter from Mars is practically invisible. He is labeled as the "poor man's Superman." I, however, love him. He is unique, has an amusingly quirky comic book history, he is a badass, and most importantly he loves Oreos. It all just--makes sense.
Anyhow, enough of my ramblings--here is the Manhunter from Mars by the talented artist Alex Ross:
