In the closing pages of Winter Soldier #2 an active Doombot is depicted looming menacingly in the background, which clearly foreshadows some trouble in Winter Soldier’s near future.
Issue #3 opens up with ex-KGB agents and their handler tying up some loose ends, which greatly reminded me of a scene from Viggo Mortensen’s “Eastern Promises.” After some brief exposition the title shifts gears allowing Nick Fury a platform to explain to Winter Soldier and Black Widow how all the pieces fit together and what their next objective is. By framing it in this manner some of the more confusing, or more historically rooted plot points were fleshed and properly explained to the reader.
